Safety

INTREN’s comprehensive safety protocols were designed to protect our employees, to keep our equipment in impeccable working order, and, principally, to help us deliver pristine projects to our clients.

Our workforce undergoes exceptional continuing education programs so that skill sets remain on the cutting edge. Our employees engage frequently in union and other valuable industry training programs. We also are signatory to numerous labor unions.

In addition, we incorporate safety, self-assessment, and key performance indicators into our core practices.

Our Commitments

INTREN is committed to safety as an essential part of our management philosophy. Our goals cover:

  • Driver's school to assure safe driving practices
  • General liabilities
  • Culture or "big picture" issues
  • Performance accountabilities
  • Job site analysis requiring all workers to sign off on initiatives
  • Foremen instruction on their role in safety
  • Weekly tailgate meetings on vehicle safety
  • Programs such as trenching safety, utility damage reduction, and participation in JULIE
  • Safety orientation for new employees
  • Strict enforcement of safety regulations
  • Aggressive follow-through on any necessary disciplinary actions

An On-Staff Safety Authority

He is certified in hazard control, public safety, safety and health, and utility safety. Carl belongs to the American Society of Safety Engineers, The Greater Chicago and Illinois Safety Council, and the National Safety Council.

Innovative ideas, hard work and service to his profession have resulted in many recognitions for Carl from his employers and peers.
